The Newton County Sheriff’s Office served as a 24/7 drop-off site for supplies in support of victims impacted by the devastating storms that swept through the Bahamas during the month of September. served as a collection site for Hurricane Dorian Emergency Relief, on September 9-27, 2019. NCSO in collaboration with JABY (Just About Blessing You), Inc. Hurricane Dorian Relief, “Putting Lives Back Together” Drive Afterwards, they each, presented remarks, thanking Sheriff Brown and his staff for the opportunity to be a part of this class and the new direction for a positive life-changing future. The names of those individuals who received certificates of completion and subsequently graduated were: Antoine Thomas Jones, Eric Mobley, Joshua Smith, and Christopher Stogill.
Sheriff Ezell Brown, during his remarks, encouraged the graduates to believe and effect positive change in their lives and make healthier choices for a triumphant future. Programs such as these are a hallmark for building better communities. Afterwards, she provided tremendous words of inspiration and wisdom for the graduates and articulated sound advice for a successful life change. Destiny Gee, a former substance abuser, who reflected on her past history as a substance abuser, particularly during her teen years, including the struggles she experienced in divorcing herself from this terrible disease. The theme of this particular class graduation was “Life Is About Accepting Changes.” The guest speaker was Ms. On September 6, 2019, the Newton County Sheriff’s Office hosted its 6th RSAT Graduation. The RSAT program targets inmates incarcerated in the Newton County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center, who experience substance abuse issues and demonstrate a sincere desire to cease using illicit drugs and abusing alcohol. He particularly focused on Leading by example Possessing a thorough knowledge of the mission statement of the agency Walking in your purpose as a leader Understanding the characteristics of leadership Maintaining a knowledge of the different types of leadership Developing leaders Continuing to educate yourself, Mentoring your employees, and numerous others. Crisp encouraged participants to work in groups throughout the conference, as they engaged in thought-provoking activities.
In addition to leaders and managers from the Newton County Sheriff’s Office being in attendance at this interactive leadership conference, law enforcement jurisdictions managers and leaders were also in attendance, including those representing the Newton County Government, Newton County Water Department, Clayton County Sheriff’s Office, DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office, Walton County Sheriff’s Office and the Columbia South Carolina Police Department.
