The RSAT program targets inmates incarcerated in the Newton County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center, who experience substance abuse issues and demonstrate a sincere desire to cease using illicit drugs and abusing alcohol. He particularly focused on Leading by example Possessing a thorough knowledge of the mission statement of the agency Walking in your purpose as a leader Understanding the characteristics of leadership Maintaining a knowledge of the different types of leadership Developing leaders Continuing to educate yourself, Mentoring your employees, and numerous others. Crisp encouraged participants to work in groups throughout the conference, as they engaged in thought-provoking activities.

In addition to leaders and managers from the Newton County Sheriff’s Office being in attendance at this interactive leadership conference, law enforcement jurisdictions managers and leaders were also in attendance, including those representing the Newton County Government, Newton County Water Department, Clayton County Sheriff’s Office, DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office, Walton County Sheriff’s Office and the Columbia South Carolina Police Department.
